About
Mr Nick Aresti is an experienced Consultant Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in upper limb surgery and complex trauma treatment within the Barts Health NHS Trust. He takes a holistic approach to the treatment of orthopaedic disorders and uses innovative technologies, working closely with leading physiotherapists and anaesthetists and only performing surgery where necessary.
Mr Aresti trained at University College London, where he won a number of prizes. He went on to undertake a fellowship at Addenbrooke's Hospital, followed by a travelling fellowship to North America, where he spent time with some of the most influential and pioneering upper limb surgeons in the world.
Mr Aresti was previously a Clinical Fellow to the National Medical Director, where he was assigned to the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and contributed to healthcare policy and regulation. He currently serves on a number of national and regional committees, including the British Orthopaedic Association. Additionally, he is active in various aspects of NHS work and is the governance lead at the Barts Health Orthopaedic Centre.
Mr Aresti has authored three surgical textbooks, several book chapters, and research articles in international peer-reviewed publications. He is still pursuing an academic career and is participating in a number of national and regional research initiatives.

I was extremely impressed with Nick Aresti. I felt well informed on my diagnosis and treatment. Nick is a very knowledgeable and experienced Doctor, who was professional, compassionate and kind. My treatment from Mr Nick Aresti has been extremely professional. Dr Aresti went out of his way to ensure I both understood the issues and the treatment. I received personal calls and messages checking on my progress throughout my treatment. I was also able to contact Dr Aresti directly at any time to answer any questions I have had. My circumstances changed midway through my treatment and I moved from private to the NHS. Through Dr Aresti's treatment I feel that I got the same, high level of treatment through both approaches. Dr Aresti always explained in detail the issue and the risks. He was also very forthcoming in explaining the process of engaging other support from other medical professionals in order to ensure the best decision was sort. Dr Aresti is very personable and professional and I am thankful for having his support throughout my treatment.
