Attended pre assessment clinic. As an ex nurse I feel able to critique this service.1. HCA Unable to take blood although good veins visible. Advised to attend nhs hospital for this (tried twice). No further attempt/advice eg giving me extra fluid and try again after seeing the trained nurse. No advice to 'pump' fist to establish a more raised vein. No attempt to anchor the mobile vein when attempting to perform the procedure. 2. HCA advised blood pressure raised. No mention of this during consultation with trained nurse. I mentioned it at the end of the consult and advised her that perhaps it was a good idea if I self monitored b/p at home at which she agreed. 3. I had reservations about taking my beta blocker on the morning of surgery due to previous monitoring that showed pulse rate fell into the thirties overnight at times. I was previously advised never to take prior to bedtime. She was adamant that it was safe for me to take prior to anaesthetic. I do feel that this should have been forwarded to the doctor/anaesthetist. I plan not to take it as she advised.

I was seen in a timely manner by very kind receptionist, HCA (I think) and nursing staff. My consultant took time to confirm the records of my history and enquire about my new symptoms; the treatment was fully discussed and agreed before I went into the examination room which was very reassuring. My privacy was protected whilst changing and I was given a sheet to preserve my dignity during the examination. Every step undertaken was explained and agreed again so I had plenty of opportunity to agree (or not) as we went along. I was interested to see the images so they were shown to me - not that I really understood but it was good to involved. I was very happy that the whole experience was very professional and gave me the utmost confidence - I wouldn't say I wanted it again but I wouldn't hesitate or be afraid if it was necessary. Also it was clearly explained how I would receive the results. Both the nurses and the doctor worked well together so everything ran smoothly.

Mr Vize was recommended to me by my optician. I conducted my own research and found that Mr Vize was the best of the best. At my first consultation, I immediately knew that I had made the right decision for upper Blepharoplasty to be performed by Mr Vize. From beginning to end, Mr Vize explained, reassured and completed the procedure. He is the most caring, genuine and personable consultant who is expert in his field. Not a job but a vocation. Surgery was completed under local anaesthetic. Mr Vize and his theatre team Megan, Tanya, Theresa and Jo were all fantastic and made me feel calm and comfortable during the procedure (I was very nervous). The theatre was relaxed with background music and good conversation with the team. The procedure took less than an hour and I was on my way home after cup of tea and biscuits. 2 weeks on and the difference in my eyes is amazing. Thank you Mr Vize I’m absolutely thrilled with the outcome. Most highly recommended.

A massive thank you to Nicola for all her help over the past few months. I’ve genuinely really enjoyed our sessions and have taken so much away from them. This has easily been my best experience of physiotherapy. Nicola is incredibly welcoming, friendly and brilliant at explaining both the exercises and the concepts behind them. She always made sure I understood what I was doing, corrected me kindly and constructively, and worked at the perfect pace. She thoughtfully adapted the exercises to suit my needs, particularly my hypermobility, and taught me how to engage and control my core, which is something I had never properly understood how to do before. I cannot recommend Mr Talbot highly enough! From the first consultation as a somewhat ‘reluctant’ and very nervous patient, through the specific ‘left field’ issues associated with my case, the actual full shoulder replacement surgery and the subsequent post op care, everything has been first class. Clear explanations given for all options and likely outcomes, coupled with a calming, kind, whilst always professional, ‘bedside’ manner. I have already recommended Mr Talbot personally to others and am more than happy to do so here in a more general fashion. I had been struggling with knee pain for years after a motorcycle accident and had seen different people over the years without much improvement. Daniel really took the time to listen and understand what might be behind the pain. He explained chronic pain in a very simple way that made everything much less confusing and helped me understand how things could improve. The exercises he gave me were simple to follow and after a few weeks I started to notice a real difference. I can now do things that used to bother my knee with much less pain. Really happy with the progress and very grateful for his help.

Lovely calm atmosphre snd friendly, helpful staff throughout. Mr Cudrmak was most professionsl snd I felt at ease and comfortable. He explained what was going on calmly and concisely, and the whole procedure was excellent. The nurses were lovely and Margsret's advice and explanations were given in a friendly chat and overall I was completely put at ease all the way through. I sm looking forward to my second surgery with a total lack of nervousness, and it will be a pleasure yo see all the lovely members of staff again.

I was welcomed immediately and asked to sit while I waited ( I was very early ) At my appointment the audiologist was attentive and helpful. She was considerate when clearing my ears and always checked that I was ok At the end she checked if there was anything I needed to say and if I required anything. She reassured me that I could return before the next review if I needed to All in all she was wonderful. I did see her name but did not write it down and now can’t remember but I think both names began with D.

I wasn't a patient at spire - I was a patient at Southmead Hospital in their specialist knee clinic. At times the time it took to arrange appointments and the general lag in systems was frustrating - but that is no one person's fault. Once I was in the system and had my surgery scheduled, everything was very smooth. Very fortunate to have such a specialist clinic as part of a public health care system. I am happy with the care I received and the surgery outcomes, and feel well on the way to a full recovery.

Got an appointment within 48 hours Thorough skin check w/ friendly and informative nurse I was worried about one mole in particular and while the nurse reassured me she was not overly concerned, she took dermatoscopic pictures to have examined by the doctor. Loads of information Re melanoma detection and prevention. Within 48 hours the doctor had sent a report with photos, confirming this was not a concerning lesion and advising to simply monitor. All in all, a great experience.
