As good as the procedure I had could be. After going for the surgery there was more work needed than intended this was very kindly carried out in the same surgery. The explanation of the surgery before hand was brilliant very clear and the after care was also brilliant couldn’t thank you enough. Mr Henry Atkinson is a very approachable, professional and extremely competent surgeon. Eight weeks ago, he replaced my 73-year-old arthritic right hip. From my first meeting with him to the last, his friendly, communicative demeaner, and willingness to answer fully all my numerous questions about the procedure, put me at ease and gave me great confidence in his professional abilities and experience. This view was well founded as the operation was a great success and my recovery amazingly speedy. Marks? Definitely an 11 out of 10!

Mr Bailey explained the best option for me. As I am young, he recommended a partial knee replacement and I was booked into Winchester hospital after being on the NHS waiting list for nearly a year. Mr Bailey visited me before and after the surgery and left me in the hands of the nurses and physios. I went home the following evening after being looked after very well. I saw the physio team at 2 weeks and 6 weeks post surgery to check how the exercises were going at home. I saw Mr Bailey at 3 months post surgery and he showed me the x-rays and explained again what had been done. Mr Bailey was friendly, professional and put me completely at ease at all times. The surgery has made a real difference to my mobility and I would be very happy for Mr Bailey to do the surgery on my second knee.

I have found David to be efficient, highly knowledgable, caring and professional. I have just had my second TKR (sadly at 52) having waited four years since the last one. There would have been no other surgeon I would have trusted to carry out this operation. In fact last year my friend (Dr Clive Swainsbury) had both knees partially replaced by Mr HB on the back of my recommendation. Luckily I only have the two! But I wish Mr HB all the best for the future, and thank him for his skill and care over the last few years.

Gave me alot of reassurance on my procedure. Came to see me personally when in recovery and once again when I went to my room and following morning at the hospital again. After a week I had a few questions which were responded by a call explaining everything. Very very happy.
